Apparently this week was International Babywearing week and I almost missed it! Noah and I love babywearing and do it as often as possible. It makes errands like grocery shopping super easy, helps keep him calm and feeling safe in overwhelming situations (like a party) and helps him feel secure while we’re out in the world (which allows him to be super curious in everything around us). There are so many benefits to babywearing beyond even those. I’ve tried a ring sling and a soft structured carrier (can’t wait to buy a Happy Baby Carrier!). I’m grateful for the support
#babywearinghas shown me I can keep my little one closer to me than I ever thought possible. I didn’t babywear much with my first, as I had the ability to hold him more frequently that first time around. But adding another little one with an active 3 year old was a game changer. I made dinner, walked around amusement parks and traveled to new cities, all while carrying my baby girl close to me. Naps, giggles, sweet glances between one another was a constant. Babywearing was the reason for these precious moments and I treasure them now as my kids
As #internationalbabywearingweek comes to an end, I am sitting here reminiscing and going through the hundreds of pictures I've accumulated since Ceci was born and we were introduced to this world. (Swipe to see the first time I wore her in a sling, at 1 week old ) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #babywearinghas gotten me through 14 months of raising Ceci; it helped me through our challenging breastfeeding/pumping journey, allowed us to feel safe venturing out with her in those first months, has made it super easy to keep going to social functions and travel, and it led me to @hopeandplum !
Can we get a Colibri Nena x Wildbird appreciation post? (This is no filter, natural light. Standard length and 21 month old daughter ) This was my first bird to arrive, off bst. Thankfully I didn't quit after this! It's THICK, but cozy and not to mention gorgeous. This was the bird that drew me to Wildbird! After more than a year of babywearing, and more birds than I can count, I can finally thread and adjust Colibri myself. I guess practice makes perfect! Babywearing is LIFE and #babywearinghas given me confidence as a new mom What was your first
It’s #internationalbabywearingweek and I have been rocking my @wildbird bird slings hard! They were on my must-have list for babygirl and I have to say I love them! It took a while to get used to it and at the beginning I worried about where baby’s feet should go or if I achieved that “deep seat” that’s so necessary. But we love it and I can almost guarantee that once baby Is in it, she is going to fall asleep. Keeping the slack straight and flat is a little difficult but all worth the trouble for newborn carries! If you’re
Happy International Babywearing Week! Our expressions in this photo tells it all. Babywearing is our #happyplace • As we near the end of this week, I am reminded of how much babywearing has filled our buckets of happiness and health. Not only are there practical benefits, but the physical and mental too. Not only for me, but baby too. Carrying has allowed me to keep all of my babies safe and close. Soothed by the sound of my heartbeat and breathing. Calmed by my repetitive movements. Secured by my physical touch. Oxytocin is an incredible chemical that is so good
• Where did you babywear this week?! • Today we went on a bush adventure through the Watagans, something I would never have even contemplated when our eldest was only 3 months old. I wish I had of though, because the freedom babywearing gives our family is incredible! Gracie has been to the beach, on bushwalks, to the parks, on walks to and from school, grocery shopping, appointments and accompanied me while I did housework all in our @minimonkeyaustralia carrier or our @hugabub .carriers wrap. I love her being so close, and having her upright means she doesn't suffer so badly
